Eva Rohlf Dies of Heart Failure at Movie House
Miss Eva Rohlf, 23, formerly of Estherville, fell dead Friday afternoon in the Capitol theatre at Des Moines when passing through a row of seats with her 8 years old cousin, Evelyn Little of Dows.
She was stricken with a heart attack after she had followed an usher down the aisle and had turned into the row of seats. She fell across the laps of people and never regained consciousness.
Miss Rohlf had been afflicted with heart disease for many years and as a result had been compelled to remain very inactive.
Services were held at Dunn’s funeral home in Des Moines and at the Methodist church Sunday at Estherville.
Eva Alberta Rohlf was born Nov. 3, 1903, at Estherville. She lived at Estherville until 8 years ago when she moved to Des Moines with her mother, Mrs. Mabel Rohlf, where they made their home at 1920 Center street.
Miss Rohlf was graduated from West High in 1922 and was a member of the Tau Beta high school sorority. She was also a member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by her parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Brown of Estherville.
Relatives and friends present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rudseniky of Albert Lea; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Rohlf of Mason City; Fred Rohlf of Terri; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Littell and son Everett and daughter Evelyn of Dows; Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Bottom of Ocheyedan; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Brown; Mrs. L. A. Ryder, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Goff, and daughter Lois, Fred Smith, Agnes Mork, Margaret Spaulding, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Brown, Mrs. William Memamsen, Ralph Edwards of Rockwell City, and Mr. and Mrs. John McCullah, of Ruthven.
