Rites for Mrs. Randolph
Burial services for Mrs. Jennie Randolph of Hopkins, Minn., with the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Randolph is a daughter of a pioneer newspaperman. Her father, Peter Johnston,was one time editor of the Estherville Democrat and also a former Estherville postmaster. Her husband, John, died several years ago. Mrs. Randolph was a charter member of North Star chapter, Order of Eastern Star, a charter member of Okomanpado chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a former member of the local Presbyterian church. Survivors are a son, Rolfe, with whom she made her home, a son Ben of Seattle, and a daughter, Mrs. Walter Enger of Blue Earth, Minn., and three grandchildren. Any friend of the family wishing a ride to the cemetery, should be at the Presbyterian church at 1:45 p.m. Sunday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 16, 1951)

Out of town relatives attending funeral rites at Oak Hill cemetery Sunday for Mrs. Jennie Randolph, former Estherville resident, were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Enger and sons, John and Billy, of Blue Earth (Mrs. Enger is the former Jane Randolph), Rolfe Randolph, Hopkins, Minn., son of Mrs. Randolph, and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Merrill of Webster City, Ia.. Mr. Merrill, a cousin a Mrs. Randolph. Many friends of the family also were present at the graveside rites conducted by Rev. Thomas G. Melton.
