E. Polson, a resident of this community for the past 17 years, passed away at a local hospital Thursday [May 16, 1929] morning, aged 57 years.

Mr. Polson was born near Pleasantville, Iowa, July 21, 1872. He was one of a family of six children born to Cyrus and Mary Polson. Two sisters, Mrs. Edna Hillabolt of Pleasantville, and Mrs. Mattie Lamm of Redlands, Cal., are the only remaining members of the family. Mr. Polson grew up on the farm where he was born. He was married to Miss Sadie Walker on October 23, 1892. They settled on a farm near Pleasantville where they continued to live till 1912, at which time they moved to a farm near Estherville, Ia. About a year ago they moved to their present home in the east part of town. Their family consisted of four children, Cyrus, Beulah, Bernice, Maxine, all living near here and present at his death.

Mr. Polson was a good husband and father, and his home was his chief delight. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was a good neighbor and a kind friend to all his acquaintances. It was but a few days before his death that he took to his bed and soon after was taken to the hospital where he passed away Thursday morning aged 57 years. He leaves a wife, four children, and six grandchildren who deeply mourn their loss.

The funeral services were held in the Methodist church on Saturday afternoon. Interment took place in Oak Hill Cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 22, 1929)
