Aged Lady Passes Away
Passes Away After Bedfast for the Last Three Years.
Mrs. Margaret Mary Laughlin, nearly 68, passed away at her home Saturday evening about ten o'clock, after being bedfast for the last three weeks.
Mrs. Laughlin was born in Kilkenny county, in Ireland, on October 24, 1874. She came to the United States 38 years ago. She was married to Martin Laughlin in March, 1916, at Graettinger.
She came to Estherville about six years ago with her husband, and for the past three years has been critically ill.
Mrs. Laughlin, although suffering much pain and illness, was always cheerful and was well liked by her many friends and neighbors.
She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic church, but was denied the privilege of attending services. Even though, she remained a good Christian woman and was highly respected by the local community.
She is survived by her husband and four step-children, Leland Laughlin, Maria Steward of Ruthven; Mrs. Lyle Johnson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Howard Still of Cheyenne, Wyo.
She also has two brothers, Pat Nolan of Emmetsburg, and Mike Nolan of Canada.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock in the St. Patrick's church with burial in the Catholic cemetery.
Pallbearers are Henry Neppel, Roy Hood and Tom Murphy of Estherville, V. L. O'Connor, Eugene McArty, and Aaron Garelts.
