Nelson Funeral Thursday

Olaf Henry Nelson, 27, died at the home of his father, Hans Nelson yesterday morning at three following an illness of about a year. Mr. Nelson had been at the state hospital at Iowa City for care and was brought home two weeks ago.

The young man had spent most of his life in Estherville. He was born here on March 7, 1907 and attended the local schools, graduating from high school. During his student days he was star football and basketball player. He was a carpenter by trade and had never married. His mother died four years ago. Surviving are the father and one brother, Alfred.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o’clock from the Sternborg chapel with Rev. L. A. Mathre of the Estherville Lutheran church in charge. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 8, 1935)
