Mrs. Lewis Nelson Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis (Elsie) Nelson, 59, of Minneapolis will be held at Sternborg-Reese Funeral Chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson died suddenly yesterday morning in Sioux Falls where she had gone to attend a reunion of her nursing school graduating class of 1924.
A service at Miller Funeral Chapel in Sioux Falls is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday and the body will then be brought here for the Tuesday service. Friends may call at Sternborg-Reese after 6 p.m. Monday until time of services.
Mrs. Nelson was born April 7, 1903 in Cedar County, Nebraska, the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. N. G. Tvedt. She was graduated from Maskell, Neb. High School, attended Wayne (Neb.) State College and was graduated from nursing school in 1924.
She was married to Lewis Nelson on Oct. 20, 1930 at Canton, S.D. The Nelsons moved to Minneapolis in 1935 and have made their home there since.
She was a member of Labandon Lutheran Church, Minneapolis.
Survivors include her husband, one brother, Carl W. Tvedt of San Fernando, Calif.; and one sister, H. Louise Tvedt of Maskell, Neb. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 30, 1962)
