Mrs. Mabel Catherine Brown Michaelson, 86, Spencer, a former Estherville resident, died at Spencer Municipal Hospital Saturday [June 12, 1971].

She received her education in the Sparta Schools and in the Terril schools. In August, 1902, she was united in marriage to George Rohlf, and the couple made their home in Estherville. In 1946, she married Jeffrey Michaelson in Minneapolis, and the couple lived in Des Moines, Aurora, Mo., and for the past 14 years in Spencer. Mr. Michaelson died April 26.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, and a member of W.R.C.

She is survived by nine nieces, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Patterson, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Robert (June) Lowe, Elk River, Minn.; Mrs. Judd (Joyce) Nelson, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Vivian Bretzman, Dunnell, Minn.; Mrs. Ronald (Ruth) Rogers, Patricia Brown, Mrs. Floyd (Evelyn) Brandt, and Mrs. Walter (Doris) Frick, Estherville, and one nephew, Ora Brown, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands and one daughter, Eva.

Funeral services were Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Spencer, with the Rev. Charles Rinkel officiating.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Elmer Adams, Craig Brandt, Ora Brown, Walter Frick, Ronald Rogers and Lester Thompson.

Friends gathered with the family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brandt following committal services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 14, 1971)
