Mrs McTavish, Former Coggon Resident, Dies
Estherville – Florence Elser McTavish, former principal of Coggon high school and a longtime Linn county resident, died here Friday following a short illness.

Born at Edgewood, she was married to Hugh G. McTavish on May 31, 1918. The family moved to Estherville from Coggon in 1930.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mary Robinson and Janie Hiley of Richmond, Va.; a son, John, of Iowa City; a sister, Gladys Borland of Eureka, Calif., and three grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Grace Episcopal church here. The family requests no flowers. (Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, IA, May 1, 1953)
