Elmer Morris Dies at His Home in Estherville Tuesday
Elmer L. Morris, 65, a resident of Estherville for 20 years, died Tuesday [October 22, 1940] morning from a heart attack at his home.Mr. Morris is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Woodyard and Mrs. Spencer Morris, both of Estherville; four brothers, Spencer Morris, Perry Morris and Sherman Morris, all of Estherville; and Johnny Morris of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one sister, Mrs. A. M. Fish of Emmetsburg; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the Church of Christ with the Rev. Fred Sawyer in charge. Burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1940)
Elmer L. Morris Died From Heart Attack Tuesday
Elmer L. Morris, 65, died suddenly from a heart attack Tuesday morning as he was visiting at the home of his daughter two miles south of Estherville.Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the Church of Christ with the Rev. Fred Sawyer officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Morris are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Woodyard and Mrs. Spencer Morris of Estherville, four brothers, Perry, John and Sherman Morris and one sister Mrs. A.M. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral services held for Elmer Morris Thursday were his brother, John Morris of Sioux Falls, S.D., his brother-in-law, Bert Combs and son of Storm Lake, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. J.
