Mrs. O. A. McCall Dies in California Tuesday Night
Mrs. Grace McCall, widow of O. A. McCall, passed away at Pasadena, Calif., at eleven thirty Tuesday [December 11, 1928] night. Mrs. McCall was 66 years old and had been ill for the past year and a half. For three months she had been bedfast. She was born in New York state in the years 1862, and was married to O. A. McCall at Martell, Iowa. In 1892 the family moved to Estherville where Mr. and Mrs. McCall resided until his death four years ago. Two of the children, Mrs. Gertrude Bartlett and George L., had moved to California living at Pasadena and Riverside and their mother went there to be with them about two years ago.

The body will be brought back to Estherville for burial. On account of all being sick with the flu those in California will be unable to accompany the remains here for the funeral. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 12, 1928)

Mrs. O. A. McCall Passed Away in California
Remains Were Brought Here Monday and Laid to Rest Besides Those of Her Husband

The remains of Mrs. O. A. McCall were brought here on Monday evening from California and laid to rest Tuesday afternoon beside those of her husband who had preceded her in death four years ago.

Mrs. Grace D. McCall was born in New York State on January 14, 1862. She came to Iowa with her parents when a small girl and the family settled at Martelle where she resided until her marriage to O. A. McCall.

In 1892 Mr. and Mrs. McCall moved to Estherville to make their home. She remained here until the death of her husband some four years ago and she then moved to California where her son resided.

Mrs. McCall was a faithful worker in the Baptist Church during her residence here. She was a faithful and loving wife and mother and was beloved by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Mrs. W. W. Bartlett of Pasadena, Calif.; two sons, Geo. L. McCall of Riverside, Calif.; and Grover E. McCall of this city; also two brothers and a sister.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Baptist Church, the Rev. Yearnd, officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were W. R. Pollard of Marion, Iowa, an uncle; three cousins, Mrs. Glenn Stradart, Mrs. Lawrence Davis, Mrs. G. L. Martin, all of Martelle, Iowa. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 19, 1928)
