Services for Mrs. Mason,71, Held Sunday
Dies After Illness of One Year – Burial Made at Oak Hill CemeteryFuneral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Mason, 71, who died Friday [February 16, 1934] at her home on East Barnhart street, were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the home with the Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer officiating. Burial was at the Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Mason, who has been bedridden for three weeks, has been suffering from poor health for the past year. Mrs. Mason was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and active in church organizations as long as her health permitted. She was of a kind and helpful disposition, very patient in her sufferings and her memory will be cherished not only by loved ones but by here friends as well.
Elizabeth Saul was born in Ogle county, Dixon, Ill., December 22, 1862. She came to Iowa with her parents when she was twelve years old and they settled in Grundy county. She was married to William Mason, Nov. 2, 1882. In the year 1896 the family moved to Clay county where they resided until 1917 when they moved to Estherville.
She is survived by three sons, James and Ralph of Ruthven, and Raymond of Emmetsburg; two daughters, Mrs. E. E. Heneman and Mrs. Bert Kint of Estherville; five brothers, T. M. Saul, John Saul, George Saul of Reinbeck, David Saul of Stuttgart, Ark., and James Saul of Waterloo and one sister, Mrs. Mary Mason of Waterloo.
Her husband, a retired farmer, preceded her in death by eleven years.
Among those from out of town who attended the funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Mason were Mrs. Thomas Mason of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mason of Emmetsburg, T. M.
