Frank Maniece Laid to Rest After Many Years of Suffering and Pain
Death came Saturday to end the pain and suffering of Frank Maniece, who for the past three years has been confined to his bed with that most painful of diseases, rheumatism. It does not seem possible that a human being could endure for that length of time, the suffering Mr. Maniece has been compelled to undergo. The disease fastened itself upon him some eight years ago, and for three years he has been helpless with it.
Frances Wm. Maniece was born in Fermannah county, Ireland, on August 2nd 1880, and he was brought by his parents to this country when but three years age. Eighteen years ago he was united with the M.E. church, and was a member of the congregation at Huntington at the time of his death. He was also a member of the Modern Woodman lodge. Frank, as he was always known, was one of those friendly, patient and enduring young men that made a host of close friends, and always kept them. He was a neighbor among neighbors, one of the greatest attributes to any man.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. church on Monday afternoon, the Rev. F. F. Case, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Moir of Germania, formerly of Huntington.
The floral offerings were most beautiful and profuse, the entire supply at the green house being in demand, and many orders remained unfilled. The funeral procession was the largest held her for years, all this contributing towards the truth of the assertions that Frank was a popular and most highly respected young man in this community. He leaves to mourn his death his loving parents, two sisters and one brother. The remains were laid to rest in the Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 2, 1915)
