Died – Tuesday, September 11th, 1888, of dropsy, Mrs. Mary E. Littell, aged 75 years, 4 months and 19 days.

The deceased was born in Stanington Connecticut, April 22nd, 1813, and in the spring of 1868, came to Emmet county, where she has since resided. She had enjoyed good health up to about six months ago when she was afflicted with the disease which carried her away. She was the mother of E. R. and John P. Littell of this city. The funeral services occurred Wednesday morning. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, September 13, 1888)
