Obituaries Of Pioneer Emmet County Residents
The community was saddened by the death of Stewart Harvey last Thursday at his home in Gruver, following a heart attack. Mr. Harvey would have been 77 years old December 2nd. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two sons, John and Lewis, and four grandchildren, a brother, Will Harvey of Gruver, and four half brothers, Robert, Alex, John and Ed, all residing near Oswego, Ill.
Mr. Harvey had come to Iowa when a young man, 52 years ago and had resided here since. He joined the Presbyterian church 35 years ago and has always been a faithful worker in the church.
Funeral services were held at the old farm home at one o’clock and at the Gruver church at two with Rev T. C. Burton officiating. The pall bearers were John Irwin, Logan Anderson, Ed Ahrens, John Goldsberry, Walter Grems, and Howard Haywood. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.
Those from out of town attending the funeral were Robert and John of Oswego, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Brown of Ruthven, Mr. and Mrs. Weigant Siebel of Kidden, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Harris Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ehlers and daughter, Luetta, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meyerburg, John Ehlers, Louis Ehlers, and Will Shroder, all of Marshall, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. James Stevens of Winnebago, Minn., Mrs. Hugh Man of Huntley, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Miller and son, Mrs. Clarence Johnson and son, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stewart of Blue Earth, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. John Frahm of Hudson, Glenn Stewart of Reinbeck, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shook and Marjorie, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Carey of Spencer, Mrs. Roy Pennington, John Brown, Gordon Brown, and Miss Janet Brown of Plainfield, Ill.
