Mrs. Alice Lewis
After an extended illness, Mrs. Alice Lewis passed away at the Birney hospital last Monday [March 8, 1937] evening after an illness of some duration, caused by complications from a fractured limb.

Mrs. Lewis resided alone in her home on East Main street. She fell on the ice a year ago in March while emptying a pan of ashes. From this fall complications set in which caused her death. Before this fall she had been in excellent health although she was seventy-nine years of age.

The funeral services were held from the Sternborg funeral home today at two-thirty the Rev. F. D. Sawyer officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her death one son, Charles Lewis, of this city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 11, 1937)
