Aged Lady Dies After Years As Invalid
Mrs. Chas. C. LaVan Suffers Stroke of Paralysis and Passes Away on Monday Night

Monday [July 28, 1924] night Mrs. Chas. C. LaVan passed away at her home in this city of paralysis. She had been an invalid for about twelve years. Mrs. LaVan whose maiden name was Margaret Jane Morgan, was born in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 1855, and was nearly sixty-nine years of age when taken. She is survived by her husband and five children Mrs. Mary E. McSpadden, who has made her home with her parents,Mrs. Stella Stewart of Estherville, Glen E. of Boone, Lynn of Estherville, and Orlo W. of Cedar Rapids. Two children Ellsworth and Inez passed away in infancy.

Mrs. LaVan came to this city with her family in 1916 and while she was confined to her home she has made many friends who extend their deepest sympathy to the family in their bereavement.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church and interment made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, July 30, 1924)
