Mrs. Robert Lee dies; Memorial Rites Monday
Mrs. Robert N. Lee, 55, Estherville, died shortly after midnight at Holy Family Hospital Saturday morning. The cause of her death was cancer.

Mrs. Lee, the wife of the editor and publisher of the Estherville Daily News, was firt taken ill last August.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Cunningham, Grace Lee was born Nov. 6, 1914, at Storm Lake, where she attended high school and Buena Vista College.

After her graduation from Iowa State University in dietetics, Mrs. Lee interned at Michael Reese hospital in Chicago and at hospitals in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska.

A member of the American Dietetics Association, she became a staff dietitian at Methodist hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.

At the time of becoming ill she was serving as consulting dietitian at Holy Family hospital, the Good Samaritan Centers at Estherville, Jackson, and Algona, and at St. Ann’s hospital, Algona.

The Lees were married Dec. 26, 1940, at Storm Lake. Before coming here to live in 1944, when Mr. Lee joined the staff of the Daily News, they lived in Columbus, Miss.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Lee is survived by three sons; 1st Lieut. Joseph R. Lee of Elgin Air Force Base, Florida; 2nd Lieut. James M. Lee of Craig Air Force Base, Alabaman, and Nelson J. Lee, a sophomore at Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio. There is a granddaughter, Michelle Lynn.

A sister, Mrs. Kenneth D. Obye, lives at Danville, Va. A brother, John M. Cunningham, died in August. Her parents reside at Storm Lake.

Mrs. Lee was a member of Kappa Delta sorority, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and First Presbyterian Church, in which she had served as an elder.

Memorial services are Monday at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian church, the Rev. H. Allen Wirtz in charge. Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial is in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family has established a memorial fund. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 19, 1970)
