Local Man is Victim of Heart Attack

George Dee Lambertson, 47, Estherville, was found dead in the back seat of his car in a rest area along Highway 9 about a mile west of Armstrong Saturday afternoon.

Emmet County Medical Examiner, Dr. L. W. Loving said Lambertson had died of a heart attack and that he had been dead several hours before he was found. His wife reported that he had not been feeling well for a week.

He was born Feb. 23, 1922, at Lake City to Mr. and Mrs. John Dee Lambertson.

He received his education in Waterloo schools and graduate from East Waterloo High School. He received a degree from Open Bible College in 1950.

On Feb. 1, 1941, he married Irene Laflin at Independence. For nine years he was building superintendent of Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines. In June, 1966, the couple moved to Estherville, where he was buildings and grounds superintendent for the Estherville School District.

He was a member of the American Legion, having served with the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible in Des Moines and attended the Union Baptist Church in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, James Michael, at home, G. David, Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Faith) Huitt, Des Moines; one brother, Arthur Lee, Waterloo; one sister, Mrs. Ruben (Faye) Johnson, Shellrock.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Harley Laflin officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert C. Rice, Willard Bebo, Arnold Anderson, Burdell Hagedorn, Don H. Wischhof and Ruben Bechtel. The custodians of the Estherville school system will be honorary pallbearers.

Friends may call at the funeral home anytime until time of service. Military services will be conducted at the gravesite. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 28, 1969)
