L. Larsen, Estherville, Dies at 87
Louis Larsen, 87, longtime resident of the Estherville and Ringsted areas, died Sunday night at 11:55 at Holy Family Hospital. Mr. Larsen had been admitted to the hospital at 2:30 p.m. for medical care but had not been ill previous to that time.
Louis Hans Larsen was born Sept. 25, 1880 in Denmark, the son of Lars and Anna Larsen. When he was two years old his family came to the United State and settled first in Kansas. They later moved to Cedar Falls. As a young man he moved to the Ringsted area.
Louis Larsen and Laura Marguerite Jepson were married May 24, 1904, in Ringsted. They lived there until 1925 when they moved to Chicago. In 1929 they returned to this area, making their home in Estherville. He had been a building contractor in Ringsted for 25 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Larsen observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1954. Mrs. Larsen died in 1958.
Mr. Larsen is survived by two son, Stanley of Estherville and Einer of Downer’s Grove, Ill.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one grandson; one great-grandson; and six sisters.
Funeral services are to be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home anytime until time of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Harold Handevidt, Russell George, Roger George, Dean Anderson, Morris Johansen, and Kenneth Strayer. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 29, 1968)
