Ruth Mary Ladd Dead After Long Illness
Ruth Mary Ladd, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ladd, formerly of this city, and now of Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away last Monday, August 23, after an illness of eleven weeks. The funeral will be held this afternoon from the residence of the grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ladd and interment made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Ruth Mary was the only grandchild of Dr. and Mrs. E. W. Bachmann and Mrs. W. A. Ladd. She was a bright, handsome child idolized by her relatives and one who made instant friends with every one with whom she came in contact. The room in which the little body rested was filled with beautiful flowers, a mute testimonial of the love of the many friends which she had made during her brief six years of life. The little bud has been cut down. Why, we know not, but God, in his goodness will some day reveal the mysteries to us and then we shall know. Until that time we must bow to His will. The bereaved relatives have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their great loss. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 25, 1920)
