Mrs. Ellen Kinnard Dead
Mrs. Ellen Kinnard died very suddenly at her home five miles northeast of Estherville on Friday morning. She arose early in the morning feeling as well as usual but after breakfast complained of a pain in her chest and left side. The children at home did all in their power to ease the pain and in the meantime ‘phoned to Estherville for medical aid but she died before a doctor arrived. She had been troubled with asthma for several years and this seemed to be the principal cause of her death.

Deceased had been a resident of Emmet county for thirty-two years. She was sixty-five years of age at the time of her death. She was a kind and generous woman and will be greatly missed at the family home and by her many neighbors and friends in this community. Ten years ago the husband and father passed away and now the wife and mother is laid beside him in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. Three sons, Thomas, James and John and two grandchildren are left to mourn her sudden demise.

Funeral services were held in the Free Baptist church in this city Sunday afternoon and her remains followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of sympathizing neighbors and friends. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, January 15, 1908)
