Mrs. Harry Jones Rites Are Pending
Mrs. Harry Jones, 77, Estherville, died at 1 p.m. Feb. 24, 1973, at Good Samaritan Center. She had been ill with leukemia the past eight months.

Services will be held at First Christian Church with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements. The time of the funeral will be announced, pending the arrival of Mrs. Jones’ son, Richard, a pilot in the Far East.

She was born Feb. 28, 1896, as Eva Blanch Omundson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Holver Omundson at Milford. She was educated in the Spirit Lake area and also attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls.

On Aug. 18, 1917, she was married to Harry Jones in Willmar, Minn. They lived in Estherville since 1919. Recently both entered Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church, Pythian Sister, American Legion Auxiliary, in which she served as president for a time.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; one son, Richard, Vienteiane, Laos; one daughter, Mrs. Lars (Olive) Anderson, Estherville; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ora S. Omundson, Corpus Christi, Tex. Her parents and three sisters preceded her in death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 26, 1973)
