Roy E. Jones, Ex-Resident of Estherville, Dies
Relatives of Roy E. Jones yesterday received word of his death at the age of 67 at his home in Kandiyohi, Minn., following an illness of about a year. He was a former resident of Estherville and a brother of Mrs. Ted Mathison and Harry Jones, who were called to his home for his final illness.
Funeral services will be held in Willmar, Minn., Saturday morning with the interment in the Estherville Oak Hill cemetery Saturday afternoon. Acquaintances who wish to view the remains may do so from 3:30 to 4 p.m. before short graveside services by the Rev. Clyde Leeds of the Christian church.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife and four children; Robert Jones of Kandiyohi, Capt. Charles Jones stationed in Maryland; Mrs. Joe Buer, Atwater, Minn., as well as 10 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. B. A. Lind of Spicer, Minn., Mrs. Mathison and Harry, his brother, of Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 6, 1950)

Relatives from out of town who attended the burial service of Roy E. Jones are two daughters, Mrs. Vern Oman and son, Paul, of Kandiyohi, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buer of Atwater, Minn.; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones of Kandiyohi and Capt. and Mrs. Charles Jones of Baltimore, Md.; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. George Brown and Austin Brown of Sioux Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Miller of Spirit Lake.
