By the misplacement of a sheet of copy last week mention of the death [February 26, 1897] of little Charley Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Johnston, was omitted from our column. The little fellow was four years of age, had never been in robust health, but was the pet of the town. His taking away leaves many hearts saddened. Mrs. J. T. Johnston have been called upon to mourn the loss of their youngest child who passed from earth to its heavenly home Saturday, February 27th. The funeral services were held Sunday and the little body laid to rest in the West Side Cemetery. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, March 3, 1897)
