Rites Tuesday For Loe Boy

Funeral services for Gregory Allan Loe, 8, who drowned there Saturday, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian church, the Rev. Lester D. Strubhar officiating.

Gregory was born at Estherville Sept. 15, 1949, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peder Loe. He had completed third grade at Roosevelt School here.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two sisters, Jerrilyn, 11, and Karon, 4, a brother, Jimmie, 7, and his paternal and maternal grandmothers, Mrs. Sivert Loe and Mrs. Joe Peterson.

Burial will be at East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home until 10 a.m. tomorrow when they body will be taken to the church. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. tomorrow until time of services.

Pallbearers for the service will be Wayne Fransdal, Larry Thompson, Bob Warrington, Walter Jensen, Larry Anderson and Danny Scott.

Gregory drowned shortly before noon Saturday in the West Branch of the Des Moines River at a point about even with 8th avenue north. He and a companion, Randy Torgeson, 7, were reported to have been playing on a dead tree which had toppled into the river some time ago.
