Harry Jaggs Dies Suddenly At Home Sunday
Harry Jaggs died suddenly at his home Sunday afternoon of a heart ailment that had afflicted him for several years. He had been connected with the railway service since 1923 when he moved to this city.

He was a man of fine character, a friend to all and a man who was a fine neighbor and a warm friend to those he became acquainted with. We have known Mr. Jaggs for many years and it was a pleasure to list him as a warm friend that he was.

Mr. Jaggs was born in London, England, February 19, 1884. He was educated in England. He was married to Miss Nelly Shannahan in London. They came to Iowa Falls in the fall of 1921 where they resided for two years before coming to Estherville. The funeral services were held in the Episcopal Church on Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock, the Rev. Dale Cosand officiating.

Mr. Jaggs is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence H. Carey of this city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 19, 1947)

Funeral Services Will Be Held Wednesday
Harry Jaggs, 63, died yesterday at 4 p.m. in his home at 1245 N. Eighth St., as a result of a heart ailment. He had suffered with angina pectoris since 1933. Mr. Jaggs had been a machinist on the Rock Island since coming to Estherville in 1923.

Born on Feb. 19, 1884, in London, England, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jaggs. He received his education and served his machinist apprenticeship in London.

On March 30, 1907 he was married to Miss Nelly Shanahan in London. They came to Iowa Falls, Iowa, from England in August, 1921, and moved to Estherville two years later. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence H. Carey, all of Estherville.

Also surviving are three brothers, Edgar of Marshalltown; John of Iowa Falls and Nate, a resident of England; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Eady and Mrs. Mary Nielsen of Iowa Falls and Cissie Osborne of England.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Episcopal church, Rev. Dale Cosand officiating. The casket will not be opened during the funeral and those who wish to view the body may call at the Sternborg funeral home tomorrow afternoon and until Wednesday noon.

Mr. Jaggs requested before his death that no floral offerings be made. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 16, 1947)
