ESTHERVILLE—Service fro Mrs. Emma (Mathilda) Walen, 93, of Estherville will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with burial in Palestine Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday at the Henry Funeral Home in Estherville.

Mrs. Walen died Thursday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital.

She was born Dec. 21, 1890 in Estherville and married Nels Walen in November of 1949. She had been a resident of Emmet County all of her life and was employed as a dressmaker.

Survivors include one son, Archie Sunde of Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Alden Johnson of Scandia, Mrs. E. W. Quam of Story City; six step-children, Mrs. Art Opsal of Alamo, N.D., Agnes Walen of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Ernest Pederson of Willmar, Art Walen of Minneapolis, Dave Walen of Alamo, Mrs. Bill Green of Billings, Mont.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Norman Beastrom and Ida Valen, both of Estherville; one brother, the Rev. Elmer Valen of Decorah.
