Mrs. Joseph Gee, 84, Dies
Mrs. Joseph (Edna) Gee, 84, died at 7:15 a.m. today at Holy Family Hospital from complications of advanced age. Mrs. Gee has been hospitalized since Aug. 18 after falling at her home.

Mrs. Gee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gossman, was born Nov. 4, 1878 in Browntown, Ind. She was educated in the Browntown schools and taught school there previous to her marriage.

She was married to Joseph Gee on Jan. 2, 1903 at Browntown. Following their marriage the Gees lived at various places including Sioux Rapids, Storm Lake, Olivia, Minn. and Estherville.

Mrs. Gee was a member of First Methodist Church and Pythian Sisters lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Oliver (Vera) Shonkwiler, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother, James Gossman of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and two daughters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church with the Rev. William R. Noland officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Harold Gee, Lloyd Gee, Jay Beal, William Shonkwiler, Roger Shonkwiler and Oliver Shonkwiler. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 29, 1963)
