HUNTINGTON, Iowa—Service for Alonzo William Weller, 95, of Huntington will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with burial at East Side Cemetery in Estherville.
Mr. Weller died Tuesday at Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at they Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born Aug. 25, 1888, at Armstrong. He was educated at Emmet County country schools. He married Sylvia M. Moore Dec. 8, 1909, at her parents’ home near Halfa. They lived in Mallard for 10 years, then Curlew for four years, then Truesdale, Gridley and Maple Hill, before moving to Huntington. He managed grain elevators for Critz & Co., and later for Graves Grain Co. He retired a number of years ago and continued to live in Huntington until two years ago when he made his home for part of the year with his daughter Velma in Curlew.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Velma) Stoltz of Curlew, Mrs. Wilbur (Neva) Widman of Minnesota Lake; 18 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren.
