ESTHERVILLE—Service for Henry LeRoy Tordoff, 69, of Estherville, will be 10:30 Thursday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with burial at East Side Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Tordoff died Monday at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville. There will be a Masonic service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born May 20, 1914, near Alden, Iowa. The family moved to Armstrong in 1919. He attended area schools there. He married Edna Fedderson July 26, 1934, at Armstrong. After her death he married MyrtleTrygstad Russett June 6, 1981, in Estherville. He farmed in Emmet County before retiring in 1978. He was also a member of the Emmet consolidated school board. He worked as a hail adjuster for State Farm Insurance and he also worked in the Emmet county Assessors office for 20 years. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran church, North Star Masonic Lodge, the Shrine, the York Rite and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife Myrtle of Estherville; son, Henry D. Tordoff of Sioux City; daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Julie) Johnson of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. Everett (Jean) Kruse of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Isabelle Watland of Estherville; brothers, Russell of Thompson, Ward of Portsmouth, Va., William of Algona,; Sister, Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Randol Des Moines.
