Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the Mahlum and Anderson chapel and at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran church for John Lippert, 76, who died at his home southwest of Wallingford Thursday at 11:45. He had been ill for sixth months.
He was born in Niederhausen, Germany on February 28, 1867. he came to the United States when he ws 26. He married Wilhelmina Lavall two years before he left Germany and their first child was less than a year old whey they came to this county.
Mr. and Mrs. Lippert went to Cleveland, Ohio first, where he was employed in a brewery. Later they moved Emmet county where they farmed until 15 years ago when he retired.
Surviving him are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Amelia Bartels of Riceville, Mrs. Ralph Borchers of Estherville, and Mrs. Jerry Madsen of Graettinger, and a brother, Phillipp Lippert, who is now living in Germany. A son and a daughter preceded him in death in 1922.
