Mrs. Gus Blank Dead
Passed Away Yesterday Morning

Yesterday morning occurred the sad death of Mrs. Gus Blank at her home on south Sixth street. She had been ill but a short time. She was fifty-one years of age and leaves two daughters to mourn her loss. Her husband died about one week ago and it is thought that his death had hastened her own. The funeral services will be held tomorrow and the remains will be interred in Oak Hill cemetery. (Evening Tribune, Estherville, IA, April 5, 1902)

Mrs. Gus Blank Dead
Mrs. Gus Blank died at 2 o’clock p.m., Friday, at her residence in this city of dropsy. Mrs. Blank had been ailing for two months previous to her death. A few weeks previous Gus Blank died. The family were just recovering from the shock when the death of Mrs. Blank came, leaving the children without a parent. The funeral was held at the house at two o’clock Sunday afternoon, and the remains laid beside those of her husband in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Gus Blank was born in Germany, April 13th, 1851. She came to America in 1881. March 27th, 1882, she married Gus Blank. A few years later Mr. and Mrs. Blank moved to the vicinity of Estherville where they have since lived. Mrs. Gus Haber and Misses Millie and Helen are left to feel and mourn the loss of their affectionate mother.

Their Estherville friends sympathize with them in their great loss. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 9, 1902)
