The little boy of Mr. and Mrs. Will Bartlett died Saturday [August 16, 1902] noon after a short illness. He was their only child and the pride and joy of his parents and relatives. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the house and the little body laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery. Many friends came to pay their last respects to the dead and extend sympathy to the grieved parents. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 20, 1902)

The little child of Mr. and Mrs. William Bartlett died Saturday afternoon of cholera infantum and only had been sick a short time.
