C. S. Wellendorf Dead

C. S. Wellendorf, of Emmet Township, died at his home last Saturday [July 21, 1902] evening at 8:10 o’clock. He suffered the two weeks previous with cancer of the stomach.

The funeral was held at the Norwegian church in this city yesterday at two o’clock p.m., and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.

C. S. Wellendorf was born in Germany in 1831. Twelve years ago Mr. Wellendorf and eight children, his wife having died four years previous, moved to Clinton, Iowa. The family lived in the Clinton vicinity until two years ago when they moved to Emmet county. Since coming to Emmet county they have lived on Pat Riley’s farm in Emmet township. The sympathy of the neighbors and friends is extended to the bereaved children. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, July 23, 1902)
