Heart Attack Was Fatal to Haviland Lucas

Haviland Luther Lucas was born Sept. 27, 1900 and died July 6, 1956 at the age of 55 years, nine months and nine days. Early in life he was converted and joined the Baptist church. He was a faithful member as long as he lived. For many years he served as a deacon in his church.

He is survived by his wife, Gracie Pearle Lucas; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Etta [Marietta] Harris of Bakersfield, Calif; two step-children, Mrs. Marjorie Ramsey of Bakersfield, Calif., and M-Sgt. Stanley Keep of Salina, Kans.; one sister, Mrs. Maud Frey of Estherville, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ada, and an infant daughter, Lila Lee.

Mr. Lucas suffered a heart attack shortly after reporting for work June 30. He was born and reared in Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 18, 1956)
