Mrs. A. Lindaman Passed Away Saturday
Another Victim of the Flu – Had Been at the Hospital for the Past Two Weeks

Mina Hornby was born in Bureau County, Illinois, October 16, 1891. In 1897 she came with her parents to Emmet County, Iowa, and lived on a farm two miles east of Estherville. Her early life passed without remarkable incident. She attended the district school and later availed of the High school in Estherville. In December 1910 she married Boyd Higley by whom she had three children: Ruth Ramona, age 14, Newell Francis, age 12, and Harley Boyd, age 10, all of whom are living. By occupation Mr. Higley was a farmer and followed that calling in this vicinity with the exception of two years which were spent in Wyoming. In 1915 Mr. Higley was killed by a mad bull. Subsequently Mrs. Higley was married to Adam Lindeman [Lindaman, Linderman]. Following this marriage they lived in White, S.D., for upwards of three years. By her second husband she had one child, Robert Wayne, age 9, who also survives her. During the latter years of her life it was her lot to support herself and family best she could. This entailed of burden of labor and responsibility which ultimately taxed her strength and undermined her health. Sickness followed which left her in a further weakened condition. About three months ago she suffered an attack from which her recovery was very slow. Some two weeks before her death she took to her bed and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Complications occurred from which she failed to recover. She passed away on Saturday afternoon, April 17, aged 35 years.

She is survived by her aged mother and six brothers and sisters: Harry Hornby of Estherville; Mrs. Blanche Gorton, of Pasadena, Cal.; Richard George Hornby of White, S.D.; Mrs. Minnie Stearns of Grand Meadow, Minn.; Mrs. Fanny Slininger of Twin Valley, Minn.; and Burton Harrison who lives with his mother.

Mrs. Lindeman was a member of the Homesteaders Lodge since its organization two years ago. She was a good mother to her family and her children deeply grieve her going as also her circle of friends. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist church, Rev. R. T. Chipperfield officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery.
