Another pioneer, Chris Larbig, passed away last Sunday from the effects of a sudden and severe stroke. He has been in failing health for sometime back. Mr. Larbig has been a resident of this county over the fifty year mark. He in the early day was a well known farmer farming as the Larbig brothers. For the past few years he has been at the home of Roy Crawford a nephew.
He was born in Chicago in 1876. He came with his parents to Emmet county in 1881.
He was unmarried. His sister was the mother of Roy, Carl and Dave Crawford and he was the only survivor of the original family.
He was a member of the IOOF order and the services Wednesday were under their direction at the Sternborg funeral home, the Rev. Frielie Conaway officiating. Interment was in Oakhill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 7, 1948)
