Charles Kesseling [Kesselring] was found dead in his room at the home of this son Henry last Friday [October 27, 1899] morning. He had been suffering for a number of years with asthma and other bronchial troubles for some years and the disease had been much more aggressive thatn usual for some weeks before his death. The deceased was a man past seventy years of age. The remains were interred in the West Side cemetery Monday, the funeral services being held at the M.E. church. Mr. Chas. Kesselring died very suddenly at the home of his son in this city, Thursday night, aged 68 years. He had been sick for some time with consumption but was not considered dangerously ill. He retired Thursday night feeling as well as usual but died sometime in the night apparently without a struggle. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Monday afternoon and the body laid to rest in the west side cemetery.
