Mr. and Mrs. Ike Hawk mourn the death of their little babe, aged twelve weeks, which occurred last Saturday evening [December 2, 1893]. The child had not been well from birth and although constantly attended by the best medical skill and cared for by loving hands it little spirit was too frail for this world. Many friends and parents extend deepest sympathy to the young father and mother in the loss of their first born. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, December 7, 1893)
