Malcolm W. Woolcutt was born in Green Lake County, Wisconsin, September 30 1854. After several moves in Wisconsin and Minnesota he settled in this vicinity about 38 years ago. Early in life he married Miss Sarah Lerdall by whom he had one son, Andrew, who survives his father. Mr.. Woolcutt was a practical horseman and known to many living in this community. He was a fancier of good horses and has owned some blooded animals. He died at his home on North Ninth Street last Saturday afternoon [Feb. 23, 1929]. He had been gradually failing in health for several years. The funeral services were held at the funeral parlors on Monday afternoon and he as buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. He is survived by his wife and son and two brothers and several sisters.

Matt Woolcutt Here Many Years
Malcolm Wallace Woolcutt, better know to his hundreds of friends as Matt, passed away at his home late Saturday, Feb. 23, 1929, afternoon. He was 74 years old and had been in failing health for a number of years. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Mahlum and Anderson chapel in charge of Rev. R. T. Chipperfield and burial made in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mr. Woolcutt was born Sept. 30, 1854 in Green Lake county, Wis. He moved to Tenhassen, Minn., as a young man, later coming to Swan Lake, this county, and then to Estherville. He has resided in this county for about forty years, farming for many years and later earning a livelihood as a handy man about live stock. He was a practical veterinary and a fancier of good horses, owning some very fine blooded animals.
He is survived by his wife, one son Andrew, two brothers Geo. Woolcutt of this place, and Jake of Tenhassen, and several sisters.
