Amelia L. Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Jones, died Friday afternoon of typhoid fever. She was ten years of age at the time of her death. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday afternoon and the remains interred in the East Side Cemetery. About five years ago her right foot was taken off in a mowing machine by a party in the employ of the city. She was playing in the tall weeds in the street when the accident occurred. At that time the city deposited $500 in the Estherville State Bank to be turned over to her when she became of age. This with the interest, will amount to something like $700, which the parents will receive. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, May 17, 1905)
