Died – Hedges – In Estherville, Iowa, May 23, 1884. Robert Hedges aged about 17 years.

The deceased was a young man of usual robust constitution until early last winter. While skating he broke through the ice and fell into the river, a heavy cold set in which in a few weeks ran into the fatal disease quick consumption. Robert was a boy possessing excellent qualities of character, always being found in the best of society, and one who lived and died with a strong faith in his Savior’s love. Mr. Hedges and family have the heart felt sympathy of the community in this their hour of affliction. Funeral services tomorrow at the Baptist church at 2:30 p.m. (Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1884)
