The many friends of Aaron J. Aalborg were greatly shocked last Saturday to learn of the sudden death of Mr. Aalborg in Fairmont, Minn.
It was not known in this city that Mr. Aalborg was seriously ill. He had been here not long before on business. At the time of his death, he was at the home of his son, Floyd.
A.J. Aalborg was born in Racine, Wis., in February 1870, and went from there to Vogorg, S. Dak., with his parents at the age of five. He resided there until he had graduated from the public schools and then went to College View, Nebr.
He operated a photograph gallery in Armstrong for years and on Dec. 30th, 1897, he was united in marriage to Miss Nellie Johnson. They moved to Estherville and have resided here since that time.
Mr. Aalborg was a roofing contractor an we have had many business transactions with him in the past. He was strictly honest and painstaking with his work. He always looked after contracts he did and was always ready to make good on anything that was not right.
The funeral services were held from the Sternborg funeral home at one o’clock Wednesday and from the Methodist Church at two o’clock with Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer in charge. Interment was made in the family lot in the East Side Cemetery.
Mr. Aalborg is survived by a son, Floyd, and a daughter, Mrs. Paul Carter, both residing in Fairmont, Minn. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 1, 1936)
