ESTHERVILLE - Services for Mayme Schaper, 85, of Estherville, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. John Besore, III officiating. Internment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Feb., 16, 1993 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home, Estherville.
Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 4 p.m. Thursday.
She was born July 9, 1907 at Buffalo Center, the daughter of August and Minnie (Lindeman) Schaper. She received her education in the Emmet Consolidated School. She was employed as a nurse fro Dr. C.E. Birney for many years. For a period of time she owned and operated a yarn shop in Estherville where she taught knitting.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville, where she was a Deacon and very active in Youth Club. She was also a member of the Wa-tan-ye Club.
Survivors include a sister Mrs. Nolan (Lena) Boggess, Estherville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and six brothers.
