ESTHERVILLE - Services for Doris May Boggess, 77, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Estherville with Father James Fangman officiating. Internment will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Estherville. She died July 5, 1997 at her home in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Henry-Olson Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born December 30, 1919 at Dolliver, the daughter of Harry and Bessie (Rossman) Hollenbeck. She attended Estherville High School, graduating in 1937. She then attended Estherville Junior College and graduated in 1939. She was united in marriage to Maurice W. Boggess on Aug. 19, 1942 at Shelfridge Field Air Force Base, Mt. Clemons, MI. During the war the couple livved in the Midwest and South where Maurice was stationed. In 1946, the couple returned to Estherville where they lived until 1976 when they moved to Emmetsburg. They moved back to Estherville in 1996. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and St. Patrick's Choir.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice, of Estherville; daughters: Mrs. Don (Leslie) Umsheid of Kenosha, Wisc., Mrs. Harlan (Christy) Hoganson of Pampa, Texas, Mrs. Gerry (Katy) Johnson of Spencer, Mrs. Tracy (Holly) Lair of North Liberty, Mrs. Mark (Mary) Moorman and Mrs. Tom (Margaret) Evans of Estherville; sons: Jim Boggess of Omaha, Neb. and Tom Boggess and wife, Jenny, of Estherville; 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son Maurice, Jr., her parents and four sisters, Bernice Miller, Arlene Brown, Lucille Shook and Katy Merriott.
