Mrs. G. E. Moore passed away Friday evening at 8:20 at the Birney hospital after an illness of short duration. Two weeks ago she was taken suddenly ill and rushed to the hospital for an operation. The operating surgeons found her ailment to be cancer of the stomach and entertained slight hopes for her recovery. She was given most tender care and everything was done to save her life, but to no avail. She made a brave fight and lived many days longer than attendants though she possibly could.

They resided there until five years ago when they disposed of their nine hundred acre farm and moved to Estherville. Mr. Moore met with an accident four years ago from which he died on February 9, 1921. Since that time Mrs. Moore had made her home here. Her maiden name was Sarah J. Lillard and she was married to G. E. Moore at Plymouth, Ill., on October 31, 1888.Two children were born to this union, Ray, now residing in Center township, and Mrs. M. R. McTigue of this city. Two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Grainger at Liberal, Kansas; Mrs. Rose Shillig, Pasadena, Calif., and one brother, B. F. Lillard, residing southwest of this city.

Mrs. Moore had a lot of friends in Estherville and Emmet county who will deeply regret to learn of her untimely death. She was a lady of pleasing disposition and not a known enemy in the world. She is going to be greatly missed by relatives and friends who hasten to extend sympathy to the bereaved children and sisters and brother.
