Rites of Lucy Pingrey to Be Held Saturday
Funeral services for Lucy O. Pingrey, who died yesterday, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 in the Pingrey home on Second Avenue North. Rev. G. E. Forsell will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Miss Pingrey was born Dec. 2, 1872, near Estherville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Pingrey. She was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers college and the University of Iowa, taking further summer school work at Boulder, Harvard, and Iowa City. Her teaching, which extended over many years, was done in rural schools and high schools in Livermore, Dows, Estherville, Washington and Charles City.

Miss Pingrey joined the Baptist church at the age of 10 and had maintained a constant membership in the Estherville church since that time. She died yesterday at 11 a.m. from a heart ailment which had been aggravated by a fall last August. Her home has always been in Estherville.

Survivors include a brother, D. S. Pingrey of Coalinga, Calif.; three sisters, Mary A. Newton of St. Paul, Minn., Maria Z. and Jennie N. Pingrey of Estherville, and several nieces and nephews. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 3, 1947)
