Funeral Rites Held Here for S. B. Cayler
Funeral services for S. B. (Sam) Cayler were held at 2 p.m. today at the Sandin funeral home, the Rev. H. Hughes Dill officiating. Burial was at Dolliver.
Mr. Cayler died at 10 p.m. Tuesday of a heart attack while on a cattle buying trip to Miller, S.D. He had been in poor health for the past two years.
Mr. Cayler was born Nov. 2, 1877, in Lehigh in Webster county. He was a farmer and stockman in Dolliver until 1927 when he moved to Norris, S.D. First coming to Dickinson county in about 1898, he made his home in Spirit Lake in 1935 and continued to live there until the time of his death.
Surviving his death are two daughters, Mrs. Corwin B. Keith of Estherville and Mrs. Paul Anderson of Dolliver; six sons, Clifford of Marion, Don of Spirit Lake, Emmet and Sam of Williams, Lawrence of Monona and Gailen of Eagle Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Heidecker of Sibley and Mrs. Charles Beers of Milford; and two brothers, Bart Cayler of Burke, S.D., and Therman Cayler of Crookston, Minn.
Pall bearers at the funeral were Gus Walraith and Rex Ryder of Spirit Lake, Kenneth Robinson of Milford, Roy Merriot and Walter Pope of Estherville and Emmet Burroughs of Bridgewater, S.D.
