Funeral for Roy Haas Will Be Held on Monday
Funeral services for Roy Albert Haas, 31, Emmet township farmer who drowned yesterday morning, will be held at 2 p. m Monday at the Sternborg Funeral home and at 2:30 p. m. at the Union Baptist church, the Rev. E. Forssell officiating. Burial will be In Eastside cemetery. Mr. Haas was born Jan, 3. 1922, at Elmore, Minn., and spent most if his life near Estherville and in the vicinity of Elmore and Blue Earth, Minn. Surviving his death of his immediate family are his father of rural Estherville; two brothers Elmer of Lakota and Marvin in the armed services and stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and two sisters, Mrs. William (Gladys) Helmick and Mrs. Meril (Edna) Billings, both of Estherville. He also is survived by his stepmother, and three stepbrothers and sisters. Mr. Haas was killed yesterday when the horse he was riding stumbled in the mud of a bayou just off from the West Branch of the Des Moines river. He was thrown into water about seven feet deep.
Friends may call at the Sternborg Funeral home from Sunday noon until time of services.
