Earl Harvego, 53, of rural Huntington, died 11 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Hospital.

Death resulted from a stroke. Mr. Harvego was stricken while doing his Sunday morning chores and was taken immediately to the hospital.

Family services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Reese Funeral Home Chapel. Public services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Huntington Methodist Church. Rev. Fred Ortmeyer will officiate.

Friends may call from noon on Tuesday until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Reese Home. The casket will be closed following the public service, but the body will lie in state in the church following the family service until the public service.

Earl Albert Harvego was born Sept. 18, 1911, on a farm in Martin County, Minn. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harvego.

Mr. Harvego came to Emmet County with his family as a small boy. He attended rural Emmet County schools.

He married Ruth Hanson at Fort Dodge in March 1938.

Mr. Harvego had farmed in Ellsworth Township during off of his working years.

He was a member of the Huntington Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Nancy) Marriott of Estherville, Mrs. Marlin (Carolyn) Paulson of Armstrong, and Jane and Lois of Estherville; one son, Ernest, of Estherville; three grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Clara Harvego, of Dunnell; and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Anderson of Dunnell and Mrs. Holgar Aagard and Mrs. Russell Natterstad of Estherville. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
